what we do...Our main aim is to encourage and inspire people of all ages to gain a better knowledge of the natural world. And what better way for kids to discover, explore and create than in the woods - away from the TV, iPad and Xbox. The Natural environment provides all the resources and inspiration - we provide the encouragement, skill, tools and hot chocolate to make it an unforgettable experience.
Stuart Slade Forest School run fun events, clubs and birthday parties that children will not stop talking about. All events and their activities will be planned around the participants themselves with consideration given to their age and interests. Although there is focused activity, the children are also encouraged to play and explore the environment using their entire senses - collecting mini beasts, den-making and self-invented games. Through the use of tools, natural resources and activities, children, young people and adults can develop important life skills - teamwork, self-motivation, problem solving, resourcefulness and learning to understand and manage risk. Stuart has an extensive background in conservation and countryside management. He has previously worked for the National Trust and various Wildlife Trusts in Southern England. He is passionate about the natural environment and about passing on his knowledge to the new generation. As well as the countryside management qualifications, Stuart also has a BA (HONS) in Fine Art - Sculpture. He qualified as a Level 3 Forest School Leader in 2014 and launched this company the following year. We currently provide Forest school at Three local schools including Storrington First school, St Philips Catholic Primary School, and Yapton C of E and have previously worked at Seaford college. Stuart is a family man and father of two young children. He understands how to effectively communicate this enthusiasm across in a fun and effective way. Our Forest School runs throughout the year in all weathers. Children will get taught how to use full-sized tools, play and explore, learn boundaries and grow in confidence. From exploring the forest, hunting for minibeasts to bushcraft - the children can go home happy and grubby and there’s no cleaning up to do after! |
